Having studied the industry for over two years now I am able to identify what my strengths are and what my weaknesses are.
Organisation Skills:
Having worked as a social media marketer it required me to have very high organisational skills as everything had to be done on time. Through all my previous projects I have never missed a deadline due to the organisational skills I uphold. I planned everything for my film shoots in advance from pre-production to production and post production as I believe that everything which is organised and planned in advance the final project is always completed to a really high standard.
Time Management:
When it comes to filmmaking time management is key and I can proudly say this is an aspect in which I am on top of. Through experience a project without good time management can really be the be all or end all of a project. Before every project I start I create a schedule starting from release date to due date whilst including everything I will be doing on each day with a plan that I finish at least 3 day before due date. This is based on the fact that it’s better to finish early than late as you will always have time to make alterations before it’s too late.
Areas Which Need Improvement:
Confidence With filming Equipment:
Despite using film equipment for over two years and my work being completed to a high standard I somehow always feel uneasy using new equipment, what I will do about this is that I will take the time to practice with as much equipment as possible and gain as much confidence as possible.
Editing:
I have been editing for a very long time however I still feel like I need to improve my techniques and keep up with new updates and features as this part of the industry is changing so often. To do this I will attend editing tutorials and watch tutorials online of new methods to editing and try a different style.
